This morning
I saw a hedgehog
Nestled within
Blades of grass

Between the hurried passerby
And swirling blue sky
There it was
always on its toes
Inquisitive black-berry nose
Exploring the garden

Well-dressed flowers
Squabbling birds
Quarreling toddlers
Chalk pieces flying through the air

But amid all of this cacophony
Hedgehog didn’t seem to care

And there
With the sun wrapping it in coziness
Hedgehog sighed
And took a nap : )
